Content Creating Partnerships

Deep Indigo Collective operates by providing visual storytelling resources to partner newsrooms across the United States.

Our collaborations undertake the momentous task of providing visuals for the exceptional reporting of the global climate crisis, as natural disasters, subsequent aftereffects and other incalculable, less conspicuous impacts effect communities. The principle role of these partnerships focuses on daily coverage and in-depth reporting of the climate crisis and other environmental threats impacts on life.

These resources are designed to counterbalance visual journalism positions absent or reduced in partner newsrooms. Working on a story-to-story basis with news outlets, the nonprofit approaches visual storytelling holistically, similar to an internal photography department.

These services are akin to how a story works through a photography department from assignment editor and desk photo editor to photographer, videographer and back to a section photo editor or multimedia editor. Deep Indigo is mindful that newsrooms are staffed differently with varying needs, and the nonprofit amends resources to each newsroom and its coverage goals.
